Lindsay Caruthers, Charlotte MBA Class of 2026
Senior Vice President of Operations | Upstream Rehabilitation ![]()
Where did you land your internship or full-time role?
Upstream Rehabilitation
Briefly describe your experience in landing this role. What challenges did you overcome?
I have worked with Upstream Rehabilitation fro 15 years, and was promoted to Senior VPO in June 2025 after showing success in other operational leadership roles and a personal investment to continued learning and personal development to lead with business excellence.
How did UNC, Kenan-Flagler Business School, the MBA program, or MBA Career Services help you secure this opportunity?
This program gave me more confidence in discussing financial performance and operational excellence, helped me position myself as an excellent communicator to my peers, leaders and direct reports, and accelerated my business perspective and overall industry awareness.
What are your long-term career goals?
I’m still unsure. I love what I am doing, the lives I get to impact professionally as a leader and through our healthcare system as a leader of Physical Therapy services. I’m near the top of my industry and am very happy.
What’s one lesson or insight you hope every MBA student takes with them after graduation?
I’m not there yet.
Can you share a moment or success story that’s stuck with you during your time in the program?
Our team established a great working relationship from the beginning. Because of this, we’ve been able to challenge and support each other often to get the most out of each class so far. It’s been a wonderful experience.
Is there anyone (e.g., faculty, peers, mentors) you’d like to recognize for their support?
My team in our EMBA CLT program, my peers, direct reports and leader and my hubby who carried our home life
