Dawn Turner, Charlotte MBA Class of 2024
SVP, Brand Strategy, Marketing & Communications, RFK Racing LinkedIn

How did your career evolve after graduating from the MBA Program at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School?

UNC’s EMBA program equipped me with the tools and extra boost of confidence needed to take the next step in my career journey, and five months after graduation, I moved into my new role where I lead the teams driving RFK Racing’s brand and business impact—overseeing marketing, creative storytelling, digital engagement, PR, and world-class partner activation.

How did UNC, Kenan-Flagler Business School, the MBA program, or MBA Career Services help you reach where you are today?

The EMBA program offered a variety of resources that helped supplement my classroom journey. The top-notch professors, real-world business application coursework, and career resources (coaching and seminars) combined to create a solid foundation that I will take with me wherever I go.

What advice would you give to current MBA students?

Everyone’s journey is unique, but as a UNC MBA grad, we can draw on our shared experiences to help us chart our path. It’s also important to note that the KFBS alumni network is super tight-knit and offers the opportunity to connect with a broader circle to create impact in our lives and communities.

In what ways do you see our students standing out in the workplace or making an impact?

KFBS students are well-equipped to contribute and make immediate impact.

What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?

I was in George Clooney’s movie, “Up in the Air.” (Well, at least part of my hair is visible if you hit pause at just the right time.)
